Meet Greg Martin

The Principled Conservative for District 26

Meet Greg Martin, who represents the Tennessee State House of Representatives for District 26, which encompasses Hixson, Stuart Heights, Rivermont, Big Ridge, Sale Creek, Shady Grove, Dallas, Possum Creek, Lupton City, Riverview, Bakewell, Lakesite, Middle Valley, Harrison, Soddy Daisy, North Shore and Downtown Chattanooga. He previously served on the Hamilton County Commission for District 3 from 2016 to 2022. This district encompasses Hixson, Big Ridge, Middle Valley, and Lakesite.

Greg served District 3 as the representative on the Hamilton County School Board from 2012 to 2016. He also served on the Long Beach, MS School Board from 1993 to 1996. Greg is a 1981 graduate of Hixson High School, has a B.A. Degree from Bryan College, and Master’s and Doctoral Degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Greg and his sons have been educated in the public schools in District 3. He is the son of Dianne Killough Martin and the late John Martin, both of Hixson. Greg’s wife, Sheila, is a teacher in Hamilton County Schools.

Greg is the Immediate Past President and current member of the Hixson Kiwanis Club, the Immediate Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Adult and Teen Challenge of the MidSouth, and serves on the Advisory Board of Directors of the Friends of Hixson. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Hixson Council of the Chamber of Commerce. He was named the 2015 PTA School Board Member of the Year in the State of Tennessee and was inducted into the Hixson High School Hall of Fame in 2018.

Greg has served as the Vice President of the Soddy-Daisy High School Boys Basketball Booster Club. He coached basketball in the Soddy-Daisy Kid’s Club. Greg is a member of the Hamilton County Republican Party and the Hamilton County Pachyderm Club.  Greg is active in his church, Calvary Chapel Northside

He is a REALTOR with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Realty Center in Hixson.
